ABOUT

Ruben Romijn (born 1992) is a Dutch based illustrator and musician, committed to creating stories. Whether it's through words, music or image, Ruben loves capturing and underscoring the most typical details of every day life. His illustrations are mostly comical, showing a great sense of wonder. Especially at people, often with a wink to their characteristic behaviors.

At the young age of 2 his talent already found a way out when, coming home from the hospital with his mum, he drew a recognizable picture of the pregnancy ultrasound of his mother's belly he'd just witnessed. Little did he know that this observant ability would one day support his career.

​

Nowadays Ruben works digitally, as a parttime freelancer, and being an autodidact he likes discovering new techniques and brushes in Affinity Designer now and then. But he doens't experiment too much, for his core business has not changed over the years (which = caricaturizing), and his unique style does the trick!
